The Tuapse Commercial Seaport has been transferred to state ownership
The Prosecutor General’s Office succeeded in court in returning the Tuapse Commercial Seaport to the state. The authorities proved that in the 1990s the asset had been unlawfully alienated under a loan agreement with onerous terms (interest rates of 190–380% per annum).
As a result, the port came under the control of an offshore company registered in the British Virgin Islands — Vonixel Limited — which, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office, posed a threat to national security.
On 24 November, the court declared the original transaction and all subsequent transfers of rights unlawful and ordered the strategic asset to be returned to state ownership.
