On June 29, 2015 the RF President signed amendments into Federal law “On Information, Information Technologies and Protection of Information”, aimed at tightening requirements regarding public procurement of foreign software.

On June 29, 2015, the President of the Russian Federation signed amendments to the Federal Law “On Information, Information Technologies, and Information Protection,” aimed at tightening requirements for government procurement of foreign software. On January 1, 2016, a unified register of Russian computers and databases will be created. A ban on the government procurement of imported software is being established in accordance with the regulatory acts of the Russian government. There are circumstances under which customers may violate the ban, provided that they justify this in the unified information system.
