OFAC Extends the Ability to Pay Russian Taxes

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury has extended the general license allowing foreign companies to pay Russian taxes until July 9, 2024. Previously, this option was available until April 9.
The license applies to companies controlled by U.S. citizens and allows them to pay taxes, fees, and obtain necessary licenses for operations in Russia. Additionally, OFAC permits the receipt of tax deductions.
However, there are exceptions: transfers to sanctioned individuals and financial transactions with blocked accounts of Russian state institutions are prohibited. The license for transactions in the energy sector has not been extended.
