Grounds for being labeled a “Foreign Agent” expanded

Since May 2, amendments to the Federal Law “On Control over the Activities of Persons Under Foreign Influence” have taken effect. Now, individuals and organizations can be designated as “foreign agents” not only for receiving foreign funding but also for:
  • · Assisting in the implementation of decisions of international organizations (in which Russia does not participate) if these decisions undermine Russia’s security;
  • · Facilitating the enforcement of decisions of foreign state bodies that are “directed against Russia’s security”;
  • · Involving citizens in gathering military-technical information that could be used against the state.
