Family Mortgage: new rules
Starting in 2026, the terms of the family mortgage program in Russia will become significantly stricter:
▪️ Only one subsidized loan per family. Even if the family welcomes more children later, taking out another family mortgage will no longer be allowed.
▪️ Both spouses must be co-borrowers. It will no longer be possible to take out the mortgage in the name of just one spouse.
These changes effectively close the loophole that previously allowed families to take out two discounted loans — one per spouse. As a result, access to the program will become more limited for many families.
