Confiscation of Foreign Assets: Myth or Countermeasures?
In response to the confiscation of Russian property abroad, authorities are preparing a law to seize the assets of residents from unfriendly countries. The draft has been approved by key government agencies.
Foreign assets could be transferred to state ownership, with their value determined through a special procedure, and decisions made via arbitration courts.
Previously, Russia limited its actions to freezing assets and imposing temporary management. The new law aims to create a compensation fund as a response to the freezing of Russian assets abroad, estimated at $300 billion.
