Ban on the Seizure of Land Plots from Large Families
Federal Law No. 67-FZ dated March 23, 2026 introduces amendments aimed at strengthening protection for large families in enforcement proceedings. The law expands the list of property that bailiffs may not seize.
In particular, the protection will apply to:
▪️ land plots granted free of charge to large families;
▪️ land plots on which the family’s only home is located (except for mortgaged property);
▪️ outbuildings and other structures;
▪️ the only vehicle owned by a large family;
▪️ property necessary to maintain a basic standard of living — household items, food, funds within the subsistence minimum, vehicles used by persons with disabilities, state awards, and other socially significant assets.
The amendments are intended to strengthen social guarantees, but they do not establish full immunity for a debtor’s property. The legislature maintains a balance between the interests of creditors and the need to protect the minimum living conditions of the family.
