AT Team secures debt recovery from debtor’s heirs
A foreign citizen approached us who had lent a substantial amount to his business partner, a Russian citizen. The borrower passed away without repaying the debt. The obligations were documented in an unconventional manner: promissory notes in various foreign currencies or without specifying any currency at all.
The court of first instance granted only partial recovery of the debt. However, on appeal, we succeeded in achieving full satisfaction of the client’s claims. The cassation instance upheld this decision, definitively affirming the client’s right to recover the debt even under such non-standard loan conditions. Victory!
