As of 13 January 2025, all property donation agreements must be notarized
Notaries will be required to verify the voluntary nature of the actions of both the Donor and the Recipient, confirm the legal capacity of the parties, ensure there are no encumbrances on the property, and explain the consequences of entering into the gift agreement.
Afterward, the notary will electronically submit the documents to Rosreestr for registration of the property transfer. The registration process will take 24 hours.
Please note that if the Donor and the Recipient are not close relatives, the gift will be subject to personal income tax (PIT) at rates of 13% or 15%.
