The UK may set up public register of people with significant control in companies from January 2016. This was provided in the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Bill, which is expected to be passed this year. The UK companies will be required to keep their own register of people with significant control (PSC) and to confirm this information annually with the public PSC register held by the Companies House. PSC are individuals who directly or indirectly own or control more than 25% of a company’s shares or voting rights, or who exercise other forms of significant control over companies.
