Rules for the Movement of Cash across the Russian Customs Border

As of 2 March 2022, export from Russia cash in foreign currency in amount exceeding the equivalent of 10 000 USD is prohibited.
The equivalent of 10 000 USD shall be calculated as follow: the amount in the other foreign currency shall be converted into RUB at the Central Bank’s rate on the date of export, and then the amount in RUB must be converted into USD. If the total amount does not exceed 10 000 USD, the export of the foreign currency is allowed.
The RUB cash may be exported without restrictions, but if the total amount of foreign currency and RUB exceeds the equivalent of 10 000 USD, the passenger customs declaration should be filed.
