New fines for consumer rights violations

On 30 October 2023 amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation came into effect, which introduced liability for an unreasonable refusal to consider a consumer’s requirement to violate his rights (fine from 100 to 300 thousand rubles for legal entities), for evasion of consideration in accordance with the law of claims regarding violation of consumer rights (fine from 100 to 300 thousand rubles for legal entities), and for forcing additional goods, works, or services for separate payment (fine from 20 to 40 thousand rubles for legal entities).
