Employers may become obliged to apply professional standards.

Amendments on mandatory application of professional standards by employers may be introduced to the Labor Code. Professional standards shall describe requirements for qualification of employees. The standards should be mandatory for the state and municipal institutions (owned by the Russian Federation for more than 50%) since 01.01.2016, and for all other employers – since 01.01.2020. Consequently, employees may be deprived of practical possibility to work under other qualification than he/she obtained.
