A&T Lawyers Among Key Participants of “Russia & CIS Private Clients” International Conference

Alimirzoev & Trofimov law firm took part in an international conference on complex legal and tax issued faced by Russian and CIS private clients. At the Russia & CIS Private Clients event organized by Academy & Finance, senior partner Sergey Alimirzoev, partner Ilya Aleshchev, and counsel Daria Romanova were among the key Russian speakers of the event.
Sergei Alimirzoev and Ilya Aleshchev spoke on latest regulatory changes affecting Russian clients and the current challenges faced by professionals. They focused on UBO’s liability in civil, corporate, insolvency and tax prospective and its impact on Private Clients’ needs, Russian currency control and the practical implications of the new amendments in this field effective from 2020. They also covered recent updates in the area of tax audits of individuals, effect of AEOI and CRS and currency control practices.
Daria Romanova spoke on the practical issues Russian clients face when determining their obligations under Russian CFC rules. She analyzed whether it could it be beneficial to disclose CFC and presented common misunderstandings of Russian clients regarding CFCs’ financial statements. She also highlighted “common” transactions the companies should beware.
